INSIDE STORY: Alongside the women's wear and growing number of men's wear on display in Berlin was lingerie on curvacious models.
Dutch high-street lingerie firm Hunkemöller, which claims to be the largest intimates retailer in Germany, took over the historic Berliner Ensemble theatre on Wednesday night to showcase a new vintage-inspired line packed with feathers, chains and glitz. The old Hollywood-inspired presentation and cheeky runway show — starring model and TV personality Sylvie van der Vaart — played to a packed house.
Across, town, a more refined tone was set in the flagship store of fine carpet designer Jan Kath, where Theresa Beiglböck debuted her lingerie line Cammello Maculato to ballet and jazz accompaniment. The collection includes delicate negligees, bandeaus, flounced panties, wrap tops and kimonos made of subtly hued chiffon, jersey and silk.
