HEADING WEST: Levi Strauss & Co. and the Fashion Law Institute have teamed up to offer a West Coast edition of Fashion Law Bootcamp in San Francisco Aug. 4 - 9. This will mark the frst time the program will be held outside of New York and the Institute’s home at Fordham Law School. This annual intensive summer program willl bring together fashion professionals, attorneys and students in law and design to experience fashion law outside of the regular university curriculum.

"Levi Strauss & Co. is a global leader in many areas of the Fashion Law Bootcamp curriculum, from innovation and brand protection to social and environmental sustainability,” said professor Susan Scafidi, who founded the Fashion Law Institute and will conduct the program.

As a major fashion hub, California was a natural choice for a new edition of Fashion Law Bootcamp at Levi’s Plaza in downtown San Francisco. The location has archives on-site and landscaping reminiscent of the streams where miners oncpanned for gold wearing Levi’s® original blue jeans. “Since its launch in 2010, we have been looking forward to helping the Fashion Law Institute in its efforts to share knowledge and information,” says Thomas Onda, chief intellectual property counsel, Levi Strauss & Co., who spearheaded the collaboration.
