LEIDA TO BARNEYS: Barneys New York tapped Edward Leida as vice president, design director. Until recently, Leida was design director at Town & Country, where, during his two-year stint, he spearheaded the magazine’s complete redesign. Prior, the veteran designer had served in a similar capacity at W magazine, working closely with then-creative director Dennis Freedman, with whom he will reunite at Barneys (Freedman is the store’s creative director).

In his 25 years at Fairchild Publications, which is now known as Fairchild Fashion Media, Leida also played an instrumental role then-Fairchild-owned magazines like Jane and Details. At Barneys, he succeeded Christopher Martinez, who now serves as vice president, digital creative director for the retailer.
