LAST TRAIN: Fashion editors negotiating Milan’s grand-but-gritty central station in their stiletto heels Friday night made for an unusual sight. They all made a beeline for the newly renovated Sala Reale, where members of the royal family used to wait for trains, to celebrate the spring fashion issue of WSJ. magazine at an event also organized by Saks Fifth Avenue and the Italian Chamber of Fashion. Tod’s chief Diego Della Valle, Vittorio Missoni, Salvatore Ferragamo chief executive officer Michele Norsa, Laudomia Pucci, Matteo Marzotto and Marni ceo Gianni Castiglioni mixed with designers such as Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi and models including Bianca Balti. “Who knew the Stazione had this hidden jewel?” wondered Gibò chairman Franco Pené of the precious Thirties location. “But after all, royalty hung out here.”
