Last-Minute Changes Make Muddle of Tuesday’s Couture Schedule

Giorgio Armani Privé announced it was putting back its show for a second time, forcing subsequent events to follow suit.

CALENDAR KERFUFFLE: On Monday, Armani Privé put back the timing of its Tuesday couture show for a second time, to 6:30 p.m., citing climatic conditions.

“Armani is having logistics problems relating to transport,” Chambre Syndicale president Didier Grumbach explained. “They needed the security of that extra hour.”

Both Alexandre Vauthier, the show right after Armani Privé, and Bouchra Jarrar, the one following Alexandre Vauthier, will be pushed back a further half hour, to 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively, their organizers announced Monday afternoon.

A spokesman for Alexandre Vauthier had previously said the main problem was likely to be with getting models from one show to the next on time — and that since the preceding event generally sees a lot of girls walking, that could indeed spark difficulties.

“Thankfully, the shows are very close together geographically,” Grumbach said. “They will probably be half an hour late,” he added.
