Las Vegas' Grand Bazaar Shops to Open Fall 2014

The shopping center envisioned to be a 21st century outdoor bazaar.

NEW MALL: Visitors to Las Vegas will soon have more places to spend their winnings. Developers of the Grand Bazaar Shops said Wednesday that the 55,000-square-foot shopping center would open in the fall of next year at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road with some 150 stores, including Swarovski, Swatch, Superdry and Campo Marzio. Stores at the center, envisioned to be a 21st century outdoor bazaar, will run from 150 to 300 square feet except for a select few at 1,500 to 2,000 square feet. “With Grand Bazaar Shops, we aim to marry recent developments in retail, which have seen smaller, more unique and interactive stores in a variety of shopping environments. Grand Bazaar Shops will be a new, visually distinctive feature of the Strip, its aesthetically beautiful mosaic-patterned rooftops designed to resemble the colorful, undulating roofs of classic bazaars, inspired by those in Europe and worldwide,” said Larry Siegel, chairman of Juno Property Group, and former chairman and chief executive officer of The Mills Corp.


Juno is partnering with affiliated funds of the Perella Weinberg Partners Asset Based Value Strategy, Glimcher Capital Group and Caesars Entertainment on the project.


The Grand Bazaar Shops isn’t the only Las Vegas retail complex in the works. Across from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino on the Strip, two stories with 140,000 square feet of shops and eateries are supposed to be built alongside the observation wheel SkyVue. The Linq, another project anchored by an observation wheel, is slated to have stores and restaurants spanning 300,000 square feet. The wheel, called the High Roller, will be situated at the rear of The Linq, which is located between The Quad Resort & Casino and the Flamingo Las Vegas, and facing Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. Goorin Bros., Chilli Beans, 12A.M. Run and Vanity Style Lounge are among the retailers that have signed on to join The Linq. Caesars Entertainment is developing The Linq, and Caruso Affiliated, owner of The Grove and The Americana at Brand shopping centers in the Los Angeles area, is consulting on the design, merchandising, leasing and sponsorship strategy.
