LAGERFELD GOES GLAM: The hype surrounding Karl Lagerfeld’s new capsule collection for Macy’s fell a bit flat in the Midwest on Friday after the line made its runway debut during the department store’s annual Glamorama fashion-show-meets-concert in Minneapolis. Attendees were more impressed with the other collections shown that night by Marc Jacobs, Jean Paul Gaultier, Tracy Reese and Sonia Rykiel — although those are designer lines and far from the masstige Lagerfeld brings. The 45-piece collection hits 235 Macy’s Impulse departments nationwide and on Aug. 31 with prices starting at $49 for graphic T-shirts and scarves, and topping out at $169 for a knee-length tweed coat. The silhouettes are streamlined, while the color palette is mainly shades of black and white, with some pink and red thrown in for good measure.

Grammy Award winner Bruno Mars got the biggest reaction of the night with hit songs like “Grenade” and “Just the Way You Are.” Far East Movement also performed.

Glamorama, which benefits Children’s Cancer Research Fund, will also make pit stops in Chicago on Aug. 12, Los Angeles on Sept. 23 and San Francisco on Sept. 30.
