KITCHEN HOUR: On Monday morning, Michael Kors and his president and chief executive officer John Idol took to the kitchen. Both volunteered for God’s Love We Deliver, which prepares and delivers food for people with life-altering illnesses in the New York area. It’s a cause that is very dear to Kors. He has been a supporter of the organization for more than two decades, and on Oct. 15, the nonprofit will bestow him with the 2012 Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement. “God’s Love does a phenomenal job of feeding those who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves,” Kors said. “I can’t think of a worthier organization to collaborate with.” The partnership extended beyond the designer’s time in the kitchen. Since July 9, Kors staffers were given the chance to volunteer for the organization during work hours — a commitment that hasn’t gone unnoticed. God’s Love We Deliver named July its Michael Kors month and raised a Michael Kors banner on top of its SoHo building.
