GREEN-WORTHY: Kering continues to rack up accolades for its green efforts. The French luxury, sport and lifestyle group scooped its second award in a week for the development and implementation of a pioneering accounting and reporting system, which translates the environmental footprint of the group’s business activities into monetary value.
Following the FIR Prize of Analysts for Socially Responsible Investment last week, Kering was announced the winner of the 2014 Global Leadership Award in Sustainable Apparel (GLASA), in Copenhagen on Wednesday.
This environmental profit and loss account provides an analysis of the group’s impact in areas such as water use and pollution, waste, greenhouse gas and other air emissions as well as land use. The first full account, which will include all of the group’s 22 brands, is slated for 2016.
