Kenzo Teams Up With Blue Marine Foundation

The brand will host a screening in Paris of the 2009 documentary “The End of the Line,” about the effects of overfishing on the world’s fish populations.

BLUE CRUSH: Kenzo is joining forces with the Blue Marine Foundation to host a screening in Paris of the 2009 documentary “The End of the Line,” which talks about the effects of overfishing on the world’s fish populations.

Kenzo creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, who both grew up near the California coast, worked an aquatic theme for their spring-summer 2014 collection and used it to draw attention to the issues of sea pollution, overfishing and the destruction of marine life.

They are expected to attend the screening on Monday with George Duffield, co-founder of Blue, the charity set up in 2010 by some of the team behind the documentary.

“We were eager to partner with a visionary organization that spoke about how we could live in harmony with the ocean. As we researched different charitable associations, we discovered the Blue Marine Foundation to be the perfect match. We wholeheartedly support their mission in creating sustainable fishing and creating marine reserves,” the designers said in a statement.
