Kate Spade Celebrates 20 Years

Blizzard or not, the brand's anniversary bash hosted by creative director Deborah Lloyd plowed on as planned Friday night.

SNOW SPADE: Blizzard or not, Kate Spade’s 20th anniversary bash hosted by creative director Deborah Lloyd plowed on as planned Friday night albeit with a more conservative turnout. Held in the same space on West 22nd Street as the brand's presentation earlier that day, the all-things-NYC theme continued with several checker cabs placed throughout the room this time graced with gorillas instead of models. Most were stuffed except for the “live” one in costume who posed for pictures with guests. A “peep show” was staged behind a glass wall in which a model bedecked in the line's signature perky clothes, meandered around an ultra-styled mid-century vibe apartment. She was unfazed by the massive snowstorm as were a few guests who were sporting heels. Most party-goers, however, had taken the opportunity to bust out their snow boots. Artist and pedigreed party-goer Langley Fox Hemingway, who was enjoying the soundtrack provided by DJ-slash-blogger Bip Ling, said when it came to dressing for the storm she had gotten it all wrong. “I should be wearing at least three sweaters and pants instead of tights and a skirt!”
