The Duchess of Cambridge didn’t veer far from her coterie of designers and classic shift shapes during the French-Canadian leg of her tour this past weekend. Issa, Catherine Walker, Joseph, Reiss and Alexander McQueen all featured in her wardrobe. She also showed off a second outfit by the London-based, Canadian-born designer Erdem Moralioglu.
On a visit to Prince Edward Island on Monday, Catherine wore a cream knit Alexander McQueen sailor dress with a pleated skirt and navy edging, as she and Prince William waved to the crowds from an open-top carriage. It’s the third time she’s worn an outfit designed by McQueen’s creative director, Sarah Burton, since her wedding day.
She wore Erdem in Quebec on Sunday: a midnight blue shift dress with a lace overlay at the neck and arms, from the designer’s pre-fall collection. Among the duchess’ other outfits were a short-sleeve, gray Catherine Walker shift dress — which, while chic, was not entirely suited to the Ottawa tree-planting ceremony where she had to swing a shovel full of dirt — and dresses by Joseph and Issa.
