JOINING CAVALLI: The Roberto Cavalli Group is expanding its design office and has tapped Yvan Mispelaere as design director, a new post. His first collection for the Italian fashion house will bow for fall 2014. Mispelaere was previously creative director at Diane von Furstenberg, which he exited in September 2012 after two-and-a-half years. Known to be a tactile designer with a fondness for the Art Deco and Bauhaus periods, along with the design canon of Yves Saint Laurent, Mispelaere is a veteran of Chloé, Valentino and Louis Féraud, among others, and worked for Gucci before joining von Furstenberg in March 2010.
