GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN: Jessica and Ashlee Simpson popped into Dylan’s Candy Bar Thursday to celebrate the launch of their new girls’ line under the Jessica Simpson label, which hit stores for holiday. The sisters, along with Jessica’s fiancé, Eric Johnson, mingled with guests, most of whom were in the line’s demographic. Girls and boys, including Ashlee’s towheaded son, Bronx, designed T-shirts, and decorated shoes and jeans, while sipping on milk and eating cookies and candy. Proceeds from the sale of a specially designed T-shirt will benefit Baby Buggy, the charity founded by Jessica Seinfeld, who attended the party with her daughter. (A T-shirt design contest will take place online, and the winning designs, chosen by the Simpsons and Seinfeld, will be included in the Jessica Simpson back-to-school collection.)

As for her own offspring, Jessica Simpson said she’s expecting her baby in late spring, and will find out the baby’s sex Monday. Simpson called the new girls’ collection, being produced by The Jones Group Inc., “a combination of both of our styles. She [Ashlee] is very rock ’n’ roll, and I’m very American.” She also said she just signed a deal for a maternity line, and will also be designing girls’ footwear. And should she give birth to a boy? Boys’ clothing is a possibility, too, she added.

Meanwhile, Simpson said she was in New York working on her spring 2013 women’s collection, a date she remarked is so far out. “My baby will be one,” she said.
