Jenny Packham Wraps Up Los Angeles Visit, Bound for New York

In L.A., the designer set up a showroom suite at Chateau Marmont and also met with Dita Von Teese, for whom she is designing some new costumes.

PACKHAM GETS PACKING: Jenny Packham ended a 10-day visit to Los Angeles on Friday with a showroom suite at Chateau Marmont and a beauty roundtable with Laura Mercier artist Talia Shobrook and Tresemmé hair stylist Jeanie Syfu on Thursday afternoon during which the trio discussed how they created the looks for the designer's Fall 2013 collection. She also met with Dita Von Teese, for whom she is designing some new costumes. It's a big year for Packham, who celebrates 25 years in the business with a May 24 lecture at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the "Fashion in Motion" exhibit which features four runway shows in one day. "You do one, and so much work goes into it that you may as well do them over and over since they don't last very long," she said. "I'm told by the New York show organizers to keep it under 14 minutes but at the V&A they say, 'No, keep it going longer.' They could stay all day." Packham also re-launched her Belgravia jewelry store to include both bridal and eveningwear accessories. She shows her bridal line in New York Friday.
