C&T ROAD TRIP: Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra hit the road for the Barneys Co-Op launch of the C&T Costello Tagliapietra capsule collection, ending their tour in Southern California on Friday, where they visited South Coast Plaza, Santa Monica Place, Beverly Hills and The Grove. “Having grown up in New York, this is the first time I’m seeing many of these cities, and my impression is one big mall,” laughed Tagliapietra. The duo also hit Las Vegas, Dallas, Washington, D.C. and Chicago to show off the 15-dress collection, retailing for $298. “We’d like to give it legs to run and see it become a full collection at some point,” he said. The next collection will be built around spiral prints that imply draping and suspension as well as more colors. The designers said they’d like to return to California for a holiday after the September shows because they have many friends in San Francisco, where they lived in 1997. “A lot of them are mad at us because we didn’t tell them we were here, but with social media, everyone knows where we are,” said Costello. “I’m finding Instagram even more addictive than Facebook.”
