Marios Schwab Ghost-Designing for Margiela?

Word has it Maison Martin Margiela has made room for one of London’s buzzy fashion talents.

INVISIBLE MAN: Word has it Maison Martin Margiela has made room for one of London’s buzzy fashion talents. According to sources, Marios Schwab has been spending time in Paris ghost-designing for the house founded by Martin Margiela, frequently referred to as fashion’s invisible man for his Greta Garbo ways. (He made a final disappearing act in 2009 and gave up the design reins.)

Reached on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for Schwab declined all comment.

A spokesman for Maison Martin Margiela told WWD the house does not communicate on individual designers, characterizing its studio as a creative collective with members of long standing that it feeds regularly with new contributors.

Italian industrialist Renzo Rosso, who owns Margiela, was spotted in the front row of Schwab’s latest London fashion show last September. Also in tow was Giovanni Pungetti, ceo at Maison Martin Margiela. At the time, all parties insisted there was no project brewing with Schwab.
