For its newest advertising campaign, 10-year-old footwear brand Taryn Rose tapped three iconic women. Dubbed “Women of Substance,” the campaign features legendary model Carmen Dell’Orefice, Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori and Carol Alt. Shot by fashion photographer Fadil Berisha, the ads will bow in September magazines. “We tried to go for three different generations,” said Tracy Wass, vice president of marketing for Taryn Rose, adding that the firm made commitments to each of the models’ charities. The brand was founded by Taryn Rose, a former orthopedic surgeon whose goal was to make fashionable and comfortable shoes. Rose left the company she founded in March, citing a conflict with the board. In March, chief executive officer Andrew Forbes told WWD that the company’s priority was expanding its wholesale business internationally and reaching $100 million in sales within three to five years.
