IN BLACK AND WHITE: Since she parted ways with Diesel a year ago, Sophia Kokosalaki has been working on a new, 40-piece ready-to-wear collection, with an emphasis on bridal, which she describes as “trans-seasonal” and “couturelike.” Going forward, she plans to design one collection a year, and the line has already been picked up by retailers including Kleinfeld Bridal, Isetan, Browns Bride and She also plans to show during the New York Bridal Market in October. Kokosalaki said her dresses should appeal to a variety of brides. “If you want to go the nontraditional route, I even have a white top with black pants,” she said, adding, “In these times, you have to be inventive, and I feel like I have nothing to lose. Doing this once a year really suits me.” Retail prices range from 600 pounds, or $922 at current exchange, for a jersey dress with pleating to 5,000 pounds, or $7,686, for an embroidered dress with inner corsetry.
