Housing Works to Host Annual Fashion for Action Benefit

The event will feature an exclusive sale to benefit and advocate for New York’s HIV/AIDS and LGBT community.

HOUSING WORKS BENEFIT: For the 10th year, Housing Works will host their annual Fashion for Action benefit on Nov. 20. The event will feature an exclusive sale to benefit and advocate for New York’s HIV/AIDS and LGBT community. As the benefit will take place on Transgender Remembrance Day, proceeds from the event will be dedicated to providing housing therapy and legal services for Housing Works’ HIV-positive transgender clients.

Patricia Clarkson will once again serve as co-chair, along with Michael Carl of Vanity Fair, fashion consultant and casting agent Natalie Joos, and fashion designer Asher Levine. Levine, who is known for his progressive style that pushes the boundaries of gender, will have a specially curated shop at the event.

Opening night will be held at The Altman Building, 135 West 18th Street in New York. The event kicks off with a VIP Hour from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by the general event from 6:30 p.m  to 9:30 p.m., and will continue as a four-day public designer sale at Housing Works Thrift Shops.
