Robert Wilson’s annual Watermill Summer benefit has never been average. Consider last year’s festivities, which included a naked, blindfolded performance artist covered in fake blood. This year’s affair, which takes place Saturday, is sure to be no exception. The big-ticket auction item is a living, breathing horse. But not just any horse. Bidding for Golden Classix, a five-year-old Palomino mare, begins at $10,000. If that sounds like a hefty price tag for an animal (albeit one descended from the decorated Arabian Bask), the lot also includes a seven-night stay at the Blue Moon Ranch in Texas and two opportunities for Golden Classix to breed with national champion stallions. It’s a deal organizers cheekily call “a three-in-one package.”
