Gucci Expands Equestrian Pursuits

The brand recently acquired a stallion named Vleut, renamed him Guccio (after founder Guccio Gucci) and now has Olympic hopes for the horse.

HORSE PLAY: That horses play an important role at Gucci is no secret, certainly not since the recent ads with Charlotte Casiraghi with one. This week, though, the Italian house is taking it a step further with the capsule Equestrian Collection inspired by the clothes creative director Frida Giannini made for Edwina Alexander, currently the world’s top female horse-jumper. Timed with resort, there are riding jackets and pants, riding boots, a saddle in black Guccissima leather, a riding cap with matching Gucci riding whip, as well as other accessories. That’s not the only horsey thing, though. Gucci recently also acquired the stallion Vleut, renamed him Guccio (after founder Guccio Gucci) and now has Olympic hopes for the horse, which is at Alexander’s stables in Holland.
