Though terms of the deal were not disclosed, the transaction is believed to be for at least 70 million euros, or $94.6 million at exchange rates.

HILCO IRELAND ACQUIRES A|WEAR: Hilco Ireland acquired Dublin-based fashion retailer A|Wear on Oct. 20. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The retailer has 39 stores throughout Ireland and three in the U.K. It also operates online and wholesale businesses. A|Wear was launched in 1985 as Gay Wear, a part of the Galen Weston retail conglomerate. The stores were operated by the Brown Thomas Group, which is part of the Weston family’s conglomerate. In 2007, the Western family sold the company in a management-led buyout that was backed by British venture capital firm Alchemy Partners. The transaction is believed to be for at least 70 million euros, or $94.6 million at the then-monthly average exchange rates.
