HELPING OUT: Lombardia, Italy-based textile companies Olmetto and Ghertex have launched an initiative to create more jobs in their region. Silk specialist Olmetto and Ghertex, which produces high-end wool and cashmere fabrics, have teamed to manufacture and distribute a new co-branded line, which will include men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces, accessories and a home collection.
“We will deliver our clients real Made in Italy products,” said Olmetto chief executive officer Carlo Strazza. “Made in Italy has sometimes lost its prestige due to production outside of Italy, but the vertical integration of these two companies can guarantee our clients that the values of Made in Italy are respected.”
