HELPING OUT: Saks Fifth Avenue is giving back. Throughout the month of February, the upscale retailer will donate 5 percent of all registered purchases made with a Saks Fifth Avenue credit card to different charities across the country, including the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Robin Hood Foundation, the American Museum of Natural History and Autism Speaks. Nearly 200 charities, which were chosen by the company’s stores in each community, are expected to benefit from the initiative. Customers may select which local charity they wish to allocate their donation.
“Saks Fifth Avenue is committed to our local communities. We appreciate our customers’ charitable involvement and look forward to giving back locally with this exciting and newly implemented national program,” said Stephen I. Sadove, chairman and chief executive officer of Saks Inc.
