HELPING HAND: If a corporation wants to support a charity, typically they have a party and turn over a check. But this month, Bloomingdale’s turned over the keys to two vans to God’s Love We Deliver. They’re rigged with refrigeration units so food for the needy gets delivered “fresh and stylish,” said Anne Keating, Bloomingdale’s senior vice president. The vans were obtained by a joint grant by Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s through the Macy’s Foundation. God’s Love We Deliver has a mission to help those with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. Vans deliver to the five boroughs of New York City and Newark and Hudson County in New Jersey, and last year delivered more than one million meals.
