HELLO, COLUMBUS: With model-endorser David Gandy greeting guests at the door and singer-songwriter Amos Lee performing in the back, Lucky Brand Wednesday assembled a supportive supporting cast for the opening of its 2,500-square-foot store at The Shops at Columbus Circle in New York. Former Burberry chief executive officer Rose Marie Bravo offered praise and pointers to Lucky ceo Dave DeMattei as well as William L. McComb, ceo of parent firm Fifth & Pacific Cos. Inc., who described Bravo’s support through his tumultuous six-year tenure at the company as “unflinching.” Any specifics directed at McComb and DeMattei were shared in confidence, but she told WWD the store represented “another success story for the brand,” which is in the midst of a string of 20 consecutive months of same-store sales increases. “I love the new branding and the warm feeling,” she said. “It’s American and it’s young, but it’s not intimidating.”
