GAELIC STYLE: Retailers and designers crowded into the gilded salons of the Irish Embassy in Paris on Thursday evening to celebrate Helen Lambert receiving France’s National Order of Merit.
The owner of the Lambert & Associates buying office, which counts Neiman Marcus and Lane Crawford among its prestigious clients, held back tears during her speech before receiving her decoration from YvesCarcelle, executive vice president of the Louis Vuitton Foundation, and the brand’s longtime ceo.
“Her team is our eyes on the ground in Europe,” said Karen Katz, Neiman Marcus Inc. president and chief executive officer. “It’s made a huge difference in how we conduct business in Europe.” Other attendees included Lane Crawford and Joyce Group president Andrew Keith; David Au Wong Gay, chief marketing officer of Trinity Group; vintage couture retailer Didier Ludot; and designer Martin Grant, who created Lambert’s floor-length chiffon gown for the occasion.
Speaking of dresses, Hervé Leroux — the designer formerly known as Hervé Leger — said he was still on a high from dressing Amy Adams for the Golden Globes last weekend. “I’m privileged to have created dresses for so many beautiful women,” he said.
