HAVING A BALL: Costume balls are proving a major jewelry theme this season, and Van Cleef & Arpels is putting it in writing, launching an Assouline tome, “Bals,” penned by British historian, author and journalist Nicholas Foulkes. The book includes first-person accounts by Jacqueline de Ribes, Hélène David-Weill and Marisa Berenson. Lee Radziwill, who stars on the book’s slipcase wearing a white sequined eye mask, is expected to attend a launch event at Paris bookstore Galignani tonight. The book is due out in September.
