Dickson Poon's gift of 20 million pounds, or $31.7 million at current exchange, is thought to be the biggest ever given to a law school in Europe.

POON’S PAPER CHASE: Harvey Nichols’ owner Dickson Poon has made an unprecedented donation of 20 million pounds, or $31.7 million at current exchange, to King’s College London for a scholarship program to support law students. The university’s law school has been renamed “The Dickson Poon School of Law.” Poon’s donation is thought to be the biggest ever given to a law school in Europe.

The university will give bursaries to 80 law students and fully fund the fees of 25 undergraduates. Five postgraduates will receive funding over three years. Fifteen places have reserved for pupils from China and Poon’s native Hong Kong.
