KEEP IT QUIET: Gus Wenner and Scout LaRue Willis made their official debut as a music duo in a dark corner of The Standard, East Village on Wednesday evening. It was so dark that if you weren’t standing in front, you couldn’t see them but Willis’ voice was loud enough and the crowd already knew who they were anyway: Gus is the son of Jann Wenner and Scout is daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis.
Their famous parents weren’t on hand but apparently plenty of their friends were. To the annoyance of the crowd, they kept shushing anyone who was talking (this is a party, people!) and a few times, Willis joined in during the five-song set, saying, “this is a quiet song, guys.” The performance was part of a cocktail party for the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Paddle8, hosted by Stacy Engman to celebrate BAM’s 150th anniversary. Attendees included Andre Balazs, Theo Wenner, BAM’s David Harper and RoseLee Goldberg.
