Marciano Throws Poolside Party

Guess chairman Maurice Marciano threw a cocktail party at Mr. C with Vogue to celebrate the Guess by Marciano holiday collection.

GUESS WHAT: Guess chairman Maurice Marciano threw a poolside cocktail party at Mr. C on Thursday night with Vogue to celebrate the Guess by Marciano holiday collection. Marciano posed on the black carpet with girlfriend Cio Soler, the company’s brand director. (The Guess co-founder separated from Nathalie Marciano, Charles David creative director and movie producer, last year.) The two spent the evening hanging out with actresses such as Aimee Teegarden, Shay Mitchell, Jillian Murray, Carmen Electra, Christian Serratos, Marisol Nichols and Rachel Fox. “I tell you, after 30 years in the business, this is the American dream,” said Marciano as he surveyed the runway presentation and sipped on a Harry’s Bar Bellini on the patio of the Cipriani family’s new Beverly Hills hotel. “California welcomed us with open arms and for that I am grateful. This kind of success wouldn’t have been possible in France.”

In her newly created post, which she has been at for a year, Soler has been tasked with giving the contemporary brand extension a chic, modern new look. The statuesque brunette, who parlayed her custom fashion illustration greeting card line, Jolie Vie, into a brand consultancy before joining Guess, said, “That’s what people came to me for, capturing their essence and translating it into something stylish. Guess always had that but it had gotten lost and now it’s back in focus.”
