FASHION CHIEF: Italy’s largest clothing department store chain, Gruppo Coin, has tapped Caterina Salvadori as fashion coordinator, a new role for the retailer. Salvadori was head of women’s design at Dolce & Gabbana for eight years, and counts prior stints at Giorgio Armani and Calvin Klein. The designer was recruited to also raise the fashion bar at the OVS brand, controlled by Coin. “OVS plans to increasingly work with fashion talents,” stated Stefano Beraldo, Gruppo Coin chief executive officer. “Salvadori will bring passion and competence, so that our offer will become more contemporary and original,” continued Beraldo, who expects to see the development of “an authentic style center” with which designers, “whether known or emerging,” will collaborate.
