Gap Lincoln Road
For its inaugural Florida flagship, Gap Inc. threw a bash with in-store concerts by Classixx and Neon Indian in Miami Beach last week. A new, two-story design replaces the original, single level at the same 1001 Lincoln Road address that opened in 1999. Totaling 19,000 square feet, it’s one of the company’s largest stores in the Southeast.
“We had the opportunity to custom build a store from the ground up,” said Gap senior vice president Keith Herbert, of the contemporary, glass and limestone structure, a rarity among the street’s historic Art Deco architecture. “The new site will also house two other brands from the Gap Inc. portfolio, Athleta and Intermix, so we will be able to showcase a variety of Gap Inc. brands to a wide range of customers.”
There’s a greater selection of men’s and women’s collections, GapFit, GapKids, babyGap and GapBody, as well as the addition of GapMaternity to the location. Attendees received monogrammed totes and were invited to charge their phones at the new seating area’s power outlets. Oak furniture and accents warm up reflective and white finishes. Sean O’Connor Lighting also contributed to the décor’s Miami-minded brightness.
