GALLIANO UPDATE: John Galliano’s legal problems continue to mount. The designer, who is to stand trial in Paris on a charge of public insult, will have legal action taken against him today by his former lawyer, Stéphane Zerbib. Zerbib was recently dismissed following the alleged discovery of irregularities in respect to his firm’s administration of Galliano’s financial affairs over a number of years. Reached by phone on Sunday, Zerbib confirmed that he and his lawyer, Emma Lapijower, will today file a charge of defamation against Galliano, among other complaints. Galliano was recently dismissed from Dior and his namesake house in the wake of charges that he hurled anti-Semitic and racial slurs at three people during altercations at a Paris bar, and after an explosive video whirled through cyberspace depicting Galliano saying, in a slurred voice, “I love Hitler.” Paris’ High Court is expected on Thursday to set a date for Galliano’s trial.

STELLA GOING GOLD: Stella McCartney certainly has no shortage of things to do, but that has not deterred the mother of four from taking on an Olympic task. Adidas has named her creative director for the 2012 British Olympic team. With her home city hosting the Summer Games, the Londoner’s designs will be in the spotlight in a big way. Adidas senior vice president Rolf Reinschmidt said Friday, “She is even overseeing performance wear and what the athletes will wear around the Olympic Village.”

COUNTRY NOTES: Keith Urban — also known as Nicole Kidman’s husband — is said to be getting into the fragrance business in June with a men’s scent developed by International Flavors and Fragrances and produced by Boom LLC, which develops custom beauty brands for distribution in department stores, mass market and drugstores and other retailers. Sources said the country singer will launch the scent in mid-June to coincide with his next music tour.
