Front Row at Yves Saint Laurent

ALL IN THE FAMILY: Filmmaker Samuel Benchetrit and Anna Mouglalis took in Yves Saint Laurent’s men’s collection Wednesday night, where Benchetrit’s six-minute movie starring his 11-year-old son Jules opened the show.

Declaring his inspiration as nouvelle vague, Benchetrit confessed that practical issues also helped Jules to win the part.

“They asked me to do it on the Monday, and we had to shoot the next day so we had to find somebody quick. That’s fashion,” he shrugged.

Reversing the roles, Benchetrit will next be directed by Mouglalis in her first long feature film.

“It’s a vampire love story based on a Russian folklore,” she explained. “He plays the vampire.”

Guests also included singer Keziah Jones plus a bevy of French actors such as Amira Casar, Vahina Giocante and Andy Gillet, who said he’s hiding away penning his first screenplay.

Pascal Greggory, who was a great friend of Saint Laurent’s, said he has a trio of movies plus a theater role coming up this year.

“I have lots of work, a little too much,” he laughed.
