FOR A GOOD CAUSE: Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama celebrated its 29th anniversary on Friday night in Los Angeles, bringing its high-energy mix of fashion, music and art-themed entertainment to downtown’s Orpheum Theatre. Headliner Cee Lo Green belted out pop hits “Lady Killer” and “Forget You” in a safari get-up, and brands including Calvin Klein, Bar III, Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse, Rachel Rachel Roy, Tommy Hilfiger, Tracy Reese and Papi, which put on a sports-themed presentation with men outfitted in briefs and tube socks that elicited shrieks from the women in the audience, paraded out some of their latest designs. But the mood turned serious when Elizabeth Taylor’s grandsons, Tarquin Wilder and Quinn Tivey, paid tribute to the life and work of their grandmother. Taylor played a key role in the success of Macy’s Passport as its founding chair and was feted with the first Macy’s Passport Humanitarian Award in 2007. Ross Matthews said, “She was the epitome of glamour. She always will be.”
Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama, which was also attended by Sharon Stone, Sara Rue, Johnny Weir, Carla Ortiz and host Pauley Perrette, has donated more than $29 million for HIV/AIDS services, prevention, education and research.
