DIGITIZATION DRIVE: The Fondation Bettencourt Schueller has gifted Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris 1.5 million euros, or $2.1 million at current exchange, to help back the digitization of the museum’s artworks. The funding from the foundation — which was created in memory of L’Oréal’s founder Eugène Schueller by his daughter Liliane Bettencourt and her late husband, André Bettencourt — is to span three years. “This support... will permit Les Arts Décoratifs to acquire all the human and technical means to drive the digitization of the 700,000 works in the collection plus the 200,000 titles from Les Arts Décoratif’s library,” the museum said in a statement. The Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, based in Paris, backs the arts and culture.
