FIRST IN FASHION: Colombia’s First Lady, María Clemencia Rodríguez, will help to turn the spotlight on Colombian fashion Wednesday night, by hosting a cocktail party at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. The stylish wife of President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón in conjunction with the Colombian embassy in the U.S., the Ministry of Trades, Industry and Tourism, and Proexport Colombia, will welcome guests who will get a firsthand look at Colombian made fashion. The photogenic and proactive Rodríguez knows how to make the most of a photo op. This spring in Cartagena, she had Shakira on hand to launch a $36 million education initiative for Colombian children.
