Fendi Collaborates With Kiesza

The Roman house tapped the Canadian singer to promote a new eyewear range.

RETRO CHIC: “Fashion is a form of art for me and I’ve become a canvas,” singer Kiesza said of her new venture with Fendi, which was toasted with a cocktail and concert on the terrace of the Club Costes by Albane in Cannes on Friday night.

 

The Roman tapped the singer to star in the promotional video of its new eyewear collection called Color Block.

 

Directed by Ruth Hogben, the clip features Kiesza walking on a treadmill against a painted skyline, singing and playing with the double-framed specs, done in a quirky mix of patterns.

 

“They are almost artsy, and that’s my personality,” the Calgary-born artist said before taking to the stage to perform her hit “Hideaway,” a dynamic pop-house fusion, which speedily logged some 18 million views on YouTube. Fendi has a reputation for spotting promising new musical talent, having previously tapped the likes of Beth Ditto and the late Amy Winehouse.

 

With Dita von Teese and Liu Wen rocking to the fiery beat, Kiesza not only showed off her broad spectrum of dance moves, but also an artsy hairdo, a punk version of Forties pin-up curls.

 

“It takes me about 20 minutes to an hour if I go really elaborate,” she said of the style. How she did it? “Through experimentation — same as everything else,” she smiled.

 

Fendi’s retro-inspired Color Block eyewear is slated to hit stores in June.
