PAST PERFECT: Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris will host “Fashioning Fashion: Deux Siècles de Mode Européene, 1700-1915” (“Fashioning Fashion: Two Centuries of European Fashion, 1700-1915,” in English), an exhibit comprising approximately 100 women’s and men’s wear plus accessory pieces. They come from the collections of antiquarians Martin Kamer and Wolfgang Ruf and primarily from France, England and Italy.
The show, which runs from Dec. 13 to April 14, is to be organized both chronologically and thematically. Solemn French court clothing from the 18th century will be juxtaposed with simple elegant pieces from England at the same time, for instance.
“Fashioning Fashion” was created by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and was also shown in Berlin.
