SOMETHING LACROIX: More than 800 guests were expected to attend the wedding of French royal Prince Jean de France, the Duke of Vendôme, to Spanish-Austrian bride Philomena de Tornos y Steinhart, in the ancient city of Senlis in northern France on Saturday. According to the Belgian magazine Royals, guests attending the ceremony, which will be followed by a Champagne reception in the historic Château de Chantilly, include the Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium and Princess Mathilde, Prince Emmanuel-Philibert de Savoie and his actress wife Clotilde Courau and Pilar of Spain, the King of Spain’s sister. The future Princess, whom Christian Lacroix met during a couture show, is slated to wear a ruched ivory silk taffeta dress with pleated detailing and a tulle-covered sparkly bustier. She’ll team that with a mother-of-pearl, gold-embroidered Lesage jacket, a turquoise-stone tiara designed by her uncle and a centuries-old lace train handed down through the family. “It goes without saying that I was particularly happy to make, in our ateliers, this outfit that I wanted to be at the same time historic and contemporary,” Lacroix said Thursday.
