SWINGING GIORGIO: For the upcoming Swarovski Fashion Rocks for The Prince's Trust event on Thursday in London, Giorgio Armani will show a selection of his fall Privé looks as Alicia Keys performs her new hit single "No One" from her soon-to-be-released album "As I Am." Armani and Keys will walk down the red carpet together, the singer donning a bustier top and black satin gown with Swarovski embroidery. For her performance, Keys has chosen to dress down with a black organza halterneck vest with tails over skinny jeans. The designer also created an exclusive lineup for Samuel L. Jackson, who will cohost the event with Uma Thurman.
THROWING A CURVE: Leave it to Azzedine Alaïa to draw an eclectic and intriguing audience, even to a mini fashion show in his showroom — and long after Paris Fashion Week ended. Sofia Coppola, François Lesage, Marc Newson and designer Haider Ackermann were among those who gathered Tuesday afternoon at Alaïa's headquarters in the Marais. Also scrutinizing the designer's spring wares was Norbert Platt, chief executive officer of Compagnie Financière Richemont SA, Alaïa's new financial partners, and Chloé chairman Ralph Toledano. "We're part of the family now," Toledano demurred before settling in for the show. "I loved the white fitted dress with the ruffles at the back, as well as the shoes," said Coppola, whose 11-month-old daughter, Romy, had been playing with a lineup of heels before the show.
HALL PASS: Kevan Hall's front row was the most star-studded so far at Smashbox Studios for Los Angeles Fashion Week, with actors Eriq La Salle, Nia Long, Shari Belafonte, James Pickens Jr., Jessica Collins, Jennifer Beals, Jimmy Jean-Louis and Rebecca De Mornay showing their support, as well as Hall's older brother Vondie Curtis-Hall. "Wow, that is beautiful," gasped De Mornay as the desert print gowns floated down the runway. Despite the fact that she was dressed in head-to-toe black Diane von Furstenberg, she said, "I love all the colors."
