ONASSIS JEWELS ON SALE: After Daphne Guinness sold off a chunk of her couture collection in April, another heiress' wares are set to go on the block. On Wednesday, Christie's in London will auction a collection of fine jewelry once owned by the late Christina Onassis. The collection, which forms part of the auction house's summer jewelry sale, is expected to fetch 3 million pounds, or $5.8 million. Highlights in the collection — which went on display at the auction house Monday — include a 38-carat pear-shaped diamond pendant, valued at as much as 2.2 million pounds, or $4.31 million, and a rare Fabergé Buddha ornament estimated to fetch as much as 350,000 pounds or $686,000. The Onassis collection also includes pieces by Van Cleef & Arpels and Harry Winston.

SWAROVSKI TO ROCK LONDON: Nadja Swarovski is bringing the company's Runway Rocks presentation — in which jewelry and fashion designers present one-off pieces created from crystallized Swarovski elements — back to London. The event made its debut in the city in 2003, and now designers including Shaun Leane, Christopher Kane, Pippa Small, Ana De Costa and Zaha Hadid will produce pieces for this year's runway show, which takes place Wednesday at London's Phillips de Pury gallery. The event is presented in association with Coutts London Jewellery Week, which runs from June 11 to June 15.

After the show, Swarovski will also present its Atelier Swarovski collection of high-end pieces for fall. Designers including Christopher Kane, Giles Deacon, Jonathan Saunders and Doo.Ri have produced jewelry for the line, which is sold at retailers such as Selfridges and Harvey Nichols in London and Colette in Paris. The Atelier pieces, along with the jewelry made for the runway, will be shown at Phillips de Pury & Co. throughout the day Thursday, with the exhibition open to the public. Swarovski said that designers including Rodarte's Kate and Laura Mulleavy and Philip Crangi, who won Swarovski awards for emerging talent at the CFDA awards last week, will produce pieces for Atelier Swarovski for spring 2009.
