NO STOPPING PARIS: Clearly a little run-in with the law isn't slowing down the Paris Hilton licensing machine. As if sportswear, watches, handbags and fragrances weren't enough, Hilton now is launching an eponymous line of high-end footwear. "My goal is to create a stylish and fun fashion line from head to toe," said Hilton in a statement from Antebi Group, a footwear manufacturing company based in New York, which is producing the shoes. "Antebi Group really understand my vision for this line as well as the needs for the fashion-forward young woman." Platforms, stilettos, wedges and other signature Hilton styles will hit stores early next year. There will also be a sport line — all the better if one has to walk a straight line for Los Angeles Highway Patrol.
OUT EAST: The Ladies Who Lunch have moved their lunching to the country for the summer, it seems. Last Thursday saw a group of 25 gather at the Veuve Clicquot house in Bridgehampton, N.Y., for a luncheon in celebration of Emilio Pucci Collectibles, a capsule collection of archived pieces that house designer Matthew Williamson has revisited in honor of Pucci's 60th anniversary. A group including Debbie Bancroft, Elizabeth Saltzman Walker, Ann Tenenbaum, Beth DeWoody and Jane Rosenthal arrived clad in Pucci from their own closets to join co-host Katharine Ross to nibble on lobster salad, caviar and fresh strawberries — all washed down by Champagne, of course.
NEW ANGELS: Foley + Corinna, the contemporary clothing label that got its start selling vintage garments in New York's Lower East Side, will join the growing circle of Manhattan-based retailers expanding to Los Angeles. While in the City of Angels to fete the spring 2008 launch of a beach line of cotton and eyelet dresses at a Lucky Magazine-hosted party on Wednesday at the Chateau Marmont, Dana Foley and Anna Corinna scouted locations for their first Southern California retail unit, which they hope to open within a year along with their second shop in New York, possibly in the West Village or on the Upper East Side. "I love L.A.," said Corinna, who designs handbags while Foley oversees the clothing part of their eight-year-old business. Though the duo loves the beach, Corinna said she is narrowing down the choice to Melrose Avenue, across the street from Fred Segal.
