NO NO NOTORIOUS: "I have never seen a sailing race before," admitted Naomi Campbell before tearing up the dance floor during a set by Duran Duran lead vocalist Simon Le Bon at a soiree feting the kickoff of the America's Cup finals Thursday in Valencia, Spain. Lack of experience didn't mean the supermodel didn't weigh in on the race's outcome, however. "I'm here to support Switzerland's team Alinghi," said Campbell, who shimmied with Kirsty Bertarelli, wife of Alinghi boss Ernesto Bertarelli. Indeed, the face-off between Emirates Team New Zealand and defender Alinghi has caused a wave of European camaraderie. Revelers enjoying the scene at Saturday's kickoff alongside Campbell included Adriana Karembeu, singer Julio José Iglesias, son of the iconic crooner Julio Iglesias, and bullfighting heartthrob Fran Rivera. Meanwhile, Spain's fashion set, which counts designer Paco Rabanne and Francis Montesinos, also flew the flag for Europe. Alinghi won Saturday's race, but New Zealand came back Sunday to tie the series, which took a break Monday.

GIVENCHY A-OK: Hubert de Givenchy is in fine fettle after a recent cataract procedure and checking in briefly to the American Hospital in Paris after feeling winded. While friends say Givenchy's eyesight was affected by the operation and he suffered from two embolisms, the retired couturier, who is 80, insisted, "I feel great."

PARTY ALL THE TIME: Van Cleef & Arpels is calling dibs on fashion week parties. Save-the-dates have gone out for the Sept. 4 bash, "Une journée à Paris," at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. The 100-year-old Parisian jeweler is celebrating its hometown with a collection of haute joaillerie inspired by a woman's journey through Paris. This summer, 7,500 hand-calligraphed invites will be divvied out to the event, for which Hammerstein will be transformed to look like a Paris nightclub replete with Lido dancers.

TOPSHOP'S POP ART: Topshop keeps rolling out the design collaborations. On Monday, the retailer introduced collections with Christian Joy, the New York designer who's best known for the outlandish stage costumes she creates for Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and a collection of T-shirts by the British artist Stella Vine, emblazoned with the artist's eerie, naive portraits. Joy's collection comprises T-shirt dresses with graphic prints and cotton dresses, which all retail for about $100, while Vine's line includes slash-neck T-shirts and T-shirt dresses with prints of portraits of Frida Kahlo, Marilyn Monroe and Lily Cole, from about $43 through $60. Luckily, Vine, who achieved notoriety when Charles Saatchi bought one of her controversial portraits of Princess Diana in 2004, has diplomatically omitted her portraits of Kate Moss and Pete Doherty, which take a sidelong glance at their tabloid travails.
