MORE FROM THE MET: The celebrometer is rising for tonight's Costume Institute benefit. In addition to Kate Bosworth, Chanel will bring along Thandie Newton and Audrey Tatou. Peter Som is attending with Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is starring in the Batman sequel "The Dark Knight" this summer. Som is also dressing model Jourdan Dunn with a look from his fall collection from Bill Blass. Meanwhile, Chris Benz has designed the dress for Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann. And Italian ballet star Roberto Bolle, who's established himself as the new Mikhail Baryshnikov, flew in from Italy on Sunday to attend the gala. As the new face of Ferragamo — he was recently photographed by Mario Testino in Naples alongside Claudia Schiffer for the fall campaign — Bolle will be decked out from head to toe, not in ballet slippers, but in Ferragamo, of course.

BENEFITS OF THE GREAT: Typically at charity benefits, the wine is an afterthought. But on Thursday night, at the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation's Second Annual Connoisseur's Dinner, it was not only a centerpiece (one case of 1970 Chateau Petrus was auctioned off for $28,000), but was part of the social cure. "One to two glasses of wine a day can slow the onset of Alzheimer's," said chair Leonard Lauder, to the pleasure of the vintage-swilling crowd at Sotheby's. Dennis Basso hosted a table of bon vivants including Marjorie Gubelmann, Todd Meister, Marcia and Richard Mishaan, Tory Burch and Danielle and David Ganek. After perusing the works by Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and Alberto Giacometti on display, the rowdy group headed to the Ganeks' apartment at 740 Park Avenue for a nightcap.

STELLA GOES STELLAR: On Tuesday, Stella McCartney will embark on a three-day Los Angeles whirlwind that includes a cocktail party at her ivy-covered Beverly Boulevard boutique combined with a screening of the Peter Sellers film "The Party" in the courtyard. Charlize Theron, Tobey and Jennifer Maguire, Diane Keaton and Nicole Richie are among those attending. The next day, John Martens of Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills will host a sit-down lunch for 40 top clients, followed by a "night at the pub," a 150-person party at Neiman's Fashion Island location.
TEMPERLEY RETURNS TO LONDON: Alice Temperley is the latest designer to return to London Fashion Week after a stint showing in New York. The designer will present her Temperley London spring 2009 collection during the upcoming London Fashion Week, which will be held Sept. 14 to 19. A spokeswoman for Temperley London said the designer hadn't yet decided if the move to London would be a permanent one.
