Fashion Scoops: Kenneth Cole Alternative... Ladies in Red...

Kenneth Cole New York isn’t having a show at the Tents, but the socially provocative brand will still have a presence.

“It’s Marc Jacobs — do you like it?” said Heidi Klum, who blew in backstage, clad in a barely-there dress, minutes before showtime.

FRONT ROW CRITIC: Tim Gunn, who was seated front and center at the Douglas Hannant show Friday, said he plans to attend as many shows as he can fit in during fashion week and was there on behalf of Liz Claiborne, where he is always on the look-out for new companies. “We’re being very strategic right now, we’re absolutely thinking about the high end. We’re not in an acquisition mode, but we will be at some point,” said Gunn. As for his myriad TV endeavors, he said “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” has been picked up for a second season, and the “Project Runway” designers will be arriving on Saturday to tape the finale, which airs Feb. 8.

BRIGHT LIGHT: It’s only the first official day of fashion week, but already some revelers are showing signs of fatigue. At the Yigal Azrouel show, a photographer tried to snap a front row shot of singer Maxwell who promptly donned his oversize shades, and cried, “Stop! It was a late night.” Other attendees like Elettra Wiedemann, Poppy de Villeneuve, Chiara Clemente and Zani Gugelmann managed to remain bright-eyed, sans eyewear.
