KATIE, THE EVER-READY BUNNY: Despite a Sunday morning that began with a five-hour, 29-minute and 58-second run in the New York City Marathon, Katie Holmes truly tested the outer limits of endurance by attending a screening of "Lions for Lambs" at MoMA that evening. Looking none the worse for wear in an all-black Bottega Veneta ensemble — and showing up at 7 p.m. on the dot for the screening — she dutifully posed for photographs and signed autographs alongside husband Tom Cruise, who costars in the political drama as a rising GOP senator. (Cruise also coheads, with Paula Wagner, United Artists, the label distributing "Lions," which is the very first project under UA's new leadership.) The film also stars Meryl Streep and Robert Redford (who did double duty as director).

After Cruise and Holmes braved the paparazzi, Redford greeted a crowd that included Barry Diller and Diane von Furstenberg, David Lauren and Lauren Bush and Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, by explaining his latest movie is intended to explore "the gray areas" of the current situation in Iraq, which has been painted as "black and white, or red and blue."

When the final credits rolled, Holmes and Cruise made a dash for it, skipping an after party that might've been too much for the marathoner to tackle in one day. But the running around may be far from over: Next up for the film is a planned campaign stop in Washington, where "Lions" was to be screened for a bipartisan crowd of senators on Monday.

PEN FRIENDS: On Nov. 14, Montblanc and Prince Albert II will host a gala at Monte Carlo's Sporting Club to launch a limited edition pen dedicated to the late Prince Rainer III. Only 81 of the writing instruments will be produced and 51 percent of sales will be given to the Princess Grace Foundation.

BEAR ESSENTIALS: Designing is mere child's play for some. Azzedine Alaïa, Chanel, Miuccia Prada and Kris Van Assche are among 40 altruistic designers and brands who have created teddy bears for the children's charity Action Innocence. The one-of-a-kind bears, which will be on display at Galeries Lafayette in Paris from Nov. 26, will go under the hammer on Dec. 1.
