Christian Dior's holiday card features a collage by John Galliano.

HAIR APPARENT: John Galliano decided to start 2008 on a humorous note. Christian Dior's greeting cards for the New Year feature a collage by Galliano depicting the late couturier — natty in a pinstripe suit and pink tie — putting rollers into Galliano's hair. "Don't stop celebrating," Galliano said. "May 2008 be a year of inspiration, adventure, joy and hope for us all. God bless, and see you at the couture!"

GUTEN TAG, ZAC: Zac Posen is showing during IMG's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin later this month, but don't think that means he is dropping off the New York calendar. Posen will close the shows in Berlin on Jan. 31 with his resort collection, then show fall in New York on Feb. 7. "It's a big potential market for us, especially with our fragrance," Posen explained. "It's important to be building a larger presence in Europe." Plus, he said, the resort collection, which is currently launching at retail, was partly inspired by images of Sylt, the island that is to northern Germans what the Hamptons are to New Yorkers. "I love those cabanas there," Posen said.

The designer has never been to Berlin, and he is unlikely to make the trip this time given the proximity to his New York show — unless he changes his mind at the last minute, he said. He already speaks a little German if he does. "I know...Ich hab' noch einen Koffer in Berlin," he joked, referencing the Marlene Dietrich classic.

LUELLA LOVES LONDON: Luella Bartley is extending her stay in London. In September, she moved her show from New York to London Fashion Week, and now plans to remain in the U.K. for February. Bartley was a big draw at the spring 2008 shows in London, where she unveiled her quirky collection at Claridge's ballroom — and later opened her first stand-alone store on Brook Street in Mayfair. A spokeswoman for the designer said she "wanted to support London Fashion Week, and give something back to the [British Fashion Council], who have been tremendously supportive." The spokeswoman added that the company had not yet decided if Luella would remain in London in the future.
ELIE FOR ENGLAND: Meanwhile, is Elie Saab parking in London next? Industry sources in the British capital say Saab will make his U.K. retail debut this spring with a shop-in-shop at Harrods. The designer will launch the concession exclusively at the Knightsbridge department store. A spokeswoman for Harrods declined comment.
